As of December 31, 2011, 1,646 mining companies and 488 oil and gas and energy services companies were listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the TSX Venture Exchange. The TSX and TSX Venture have more energy and mining companies listed than any other global exchange, including the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
